Ingredients:
3 bunches broccoli rabe, ends trimmed
1 1/2 pounds hot Italian sausage links, cut into 1-inch pieces
5 tablespoons olive oil
5 garlic cloves, chopped
Cut broccoli rabe into 3-inch-long pieces. Cook in a large pot of boiling salted water uncovered, until tender, about 5 minutes. Drain, then rinse under cold water to stop cooking. Squeeze out excess water from handfuls of broccoli rabe.
Preheat broiler to high. Broil sausage on a baking sheet 3 to 4 inches from heat, turning occasionally, until cooked through, about 5 minutes. Keep warm. While the sausage cooks, heat the oil in a large sauce pan over medium-high heat until it is warm. Add the garlic and cook 1 minute.
Add the broccoli rabe, then sauté until heated through, about 4 minutes. Stir in sausage. Serve immediately.
